Very Rev. Christopher M. Ford - Rector


Father Ford was born in Hartford, CT and grew up in Needham, MA. During college, his father retired and his parents moved to Madison, CT where they lived the next 30 years. Father Ford attended Syracuse University where he received a degree in Public Policy: Urban Affairs from the Maxwell School of Public Administration.

Having discerned a vocation to the priesthood, Father enrolled in St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. He was ordained a priest by Archbishop John Whealon on August 29, 1987. After serving four years in St. Francis of Assisi in Naugatuck he was appointed by Archbishop Whealon to graduate studies in Rome. In 1993, he received a license in Canon Law from the Pontifical Gregorian University. Upon returning home he has served in various parishes and in the Metropolitan Tribunal as both judge and defender of the bond.

His previous pastorates include St. Justin in Hartford and St, Mary in Branford. On July 1, 2015, Archbishop Blair appointed Fr. Ford rector of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and Episcopal Vicar for the Waterbury Vicariate.



Rev. Joseph Karikunnel CST - Parochial Vicor


Father Karikunnel is a member of the Little Flower Congregation (CST Fathers).  The Order was founded in 1947 in the Archdiocese of Ernakulam, Kerala State, India under the Patronage of St Therese of  Lisieux, the Patroness of the Missions. He was ordained, a priest on April 5, 1983.  He has served at St. Mary Church in Derby, CT for the last several months.




Rev. John Kuzhikottayil, SDS- Temporary Parochial Vicor


Rev. John Kuzhikottayil is a member of the Religious Order the Salesians of Don Bosco. He was ordained in 1982 and has served in various positions in the congregation and the Church. After completing his degree in Philosophy and Economics, Father John completed his Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication, from The City and Guilds of London in 1979. After his ordination, he served as the Assistant Superintendent of Don Bosco Technical School, Calcutta for six years.

In 1988 he was sent to complete his Master's Degree in Computer Science from IONA College, New Rochelle, NY. Father John returned to Delhi in 1991 and was the Director of the Computer Department at Don Bosco Technical Institute. In 1976 he was made the Administrator of Don Bosco School with an enrollment of 2500 students. In 1979 he returned to Don Bosco Technical Institute and served as Manager of the Printing Press as well as the Director of the Computer Department.

In 2008 at the request of the Archdiocese, he came to serve the parish of St. Mary Church, Branford. He served as Parochial Vicar for four years at Branford. On May 21st. 2012, he was appointed by The Most Rev. Archbishop Henry J. Mansell to be the Administrator of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and St. Francis – St. Hedwig School. After a year, he was appointed Pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Church.

In 2015 at the request of his Provincial Superior, he returned to Delhi, India and was appointed the Provincial procurator of the province. After completing his term as Procurator, he has returned back to the Archdiocese to serve the Church and the people.

The Most Rev. Archbishop Leonard P. Blair has appointed him parochial vicar at the Basilica of the Immaculate from June 23rd. 2018.



Rev. William Agyemang- Temporary Parochial Vicor 


Fr. William Agyemang is a native of Ghana in West Africa.  He was ordained in the Archdiocese of Hartford at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford on May 11, 2013, by Archbishop Emeritus Henry J. Mansell. 



Deacon James Papillo 

Deacon Jim was ordained as a permanent deacon in the Archdiocese of Hartford on June 12, 2004. Prior to his ordination, Deacon Jim received a doctorate in psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Jim practiced law privately from 1991-1999.

Deacon Jim has previously been assigned to parishes in West Hartford, Bloomfield, New Britain and, most recently, Hartford.
